Artist's Description

When gold miners flooded Alaska in search of gold which few of them found. They turned to the railroad for jobs. The work was difficult and dangerous and over time ultimately failed. Today, tourists and a few hearty hikers ride modern trains into the wilderness to see what conditions were like years ago. This trestle bridge stands as a reminder of bygone days and dreams.
