The Mississippi river has always fascinated me. I grew up near the headwaters in Minnesota. As I stood on a ridge one morning watching the colors change and the sky turn bright blue the barge came into view, making its way south to New Orleans. Roll on Mississippi,by Charlie Pride captures the feeling best. “Roll on Mississippi, big river roll. You’re the childhood dream I grew up on. Roll on Mississippi, carry me home. Now I’ll admit, I’ve been away too long.

My artwork is focused on bringing out the emotion of the location to you the viewer. If the photograph puts a smile on your face, then I have achieved my goal. You are invited to enjoy evocative scenes of the world as it is and on occasion as it could be. My career in photography began over forty years ago when I purchased a Polaroid camera that popped out small prints on hard paper after having been waved in the breeze.
