Taking photos of wildlife, especially buffalo in Yellowstone National Park is both exciting and dangerous. This photograph was inspired by my wife who spotted them in the distance as we rounded a bend in the river.
As I pulled into one of the few empty parking areas where wildlife is frequently seen they moved closer to the scalding hot water and noxious fumes as if they were waiting for me.
Moments after the shutter clicked, they moved on.
We stayed long after they were gone and only the mist rising from the hot spring remained.
