Artist's Description

Cotton Balls
The white areas in this photo are pools of salt over a layer of water. The pool are soft and I had to be careful not to sink in and destroy the view of this landscape.
I had visited the area late in the day and planned the shot for when the Milky Way would be at its brightest early the following morning.
The green glow is air glow caused by sunlight bouncing off the atmosphere. After I took the shot, I spent a few minutes lying on one of the larger salt formations and looking up at the sky. I didn’t lay their long.
The desert is cold at night!
